This afternoon it’s all about the children. Children play an important role in weddings, you want them to look super cute whilst having a ball. So this feature is dedicated especially to making the little ones at your wedding look utterly gorgeous.
Gwenda Wilkes at The Vintage Floral Design Company organised and styled this shoot with the idea of devoting it to the flower girls and pageboys instead of the bride. She rounded up some sublime wedding suppliers to create the prettiest inspiration. With gorgeous attire for the children and amazing pastel coloured wedding decor to boot. There is so so much inspiration here. If you are struggling to kit out the children at your wedding, then you are in the right place.
Thanks so much to Kat Forsyth Photography for sharing her beautiful images today, and thank you to Gwenda for letting me share this shoot today, here is what she had to say about it;
“In several styled shoots I’ve been involved in, my 9 year old daughter has made a ‘guest appearance’ as a bridesmaid – I decided it was time to have a shoot with a difference and devote it to the supporting cast of the bride!
I’d met Sarah from Little Bevan at a couple of wedding fairs and instantly knew that I would love to collaborate with her. The rest of the shoot evolved from the key elements of flowers, pastel colours and a whole lot of fun! The Secret Garden kindly let us run amok around their gorgeous gardens, having set up base in their beautiful conservatory. I had envisaged the images to be full of natural light and movement; I didn’t want it to be overly posed or contrived, so Kat’s reportage style was spot on. She did an amazing job of wrangling 6 children (not to mention myself and Emma from Beaubuttons!).
Each and every contributor (and there were a lot of them in the end) gave 100% and the final result surpassed all expectations. We had the surprise addition on the day of a couple of bridal gowns, courtesy of Tiara & Tails, located in the same complex as The Secret Garden – this brought a fullness to the shoot (and a few precarious poses on an upturned apple crate!).
I am so grateful to everyone for bringing my ideas to life on the day – together we all made a formidable team and it was a pleasure to work with you all. I hope the result is both inspirational and enjoyable to view – it certainly was a joy to be a part of it.”
