Happy Monday you guys!! Lets get cracking with some wedding inspiration this morning.
When i received the following set of images, i must admit i was blown away. Nichola and Daniel were married in May at the striking The Hilton Hotel Deansgate, Manchester. They wanted their day to ‘incorporate all that is old and bring together all that is new’ whilst representing them as a couple.
They decided on a beautiful yellow and grey theme, which has to be one of my favourite colour combinations. With ginormous yellow balloons, passports for the guests, architectural florals and quite frankly style in abundance :-)
I have to mention Nichola’s stunning Suzanne Neville gown, and her Alexander McQueen shoes… OMG. I so love this chic and modern wedding.
Thanks so much to Matt Agan for sharing his images with me today via Two Bright Lights.

Names…. Nichola & Daniel
Wedding Date…. 26th May 2012
The Proposal…. A Beautiful Indian midsummer morning, on ‘that bench’, where that ‘Diana’ sat, outside that ‘Taj Mahal’.
The Vision for the day…. a day to celebrate all that is old and bring together all that is new, a loving gathering for family an d friends. To incorporate all that we as a couple represent and love in life.
The Planning process…. Many a cup of coffee and pouring out ideas, some beyond the ridiculous, and tweaking them so they fit our day, we have wonderful families and friends which helped above and beyond any expectations.
The Venue… church- St Marks Worsley, Manchester. Reception – The Hilton Hotel Deansgate, Manchester.
The Dress + Accessories….. Dress & Veil – Suzanne Neville. Accessories – John Lewis.
Finding the dress…. I initially went on my own to Suzanne Neville as the first dress shop I tried, I took my mum, she liked every single one I tried on, whilst I hated them and felt like a 15 year old girl playing dress up! The women at Suzanne Neville in Wilmslow were so helpful and most of their dresses have a lace up corset incorporated into the dress, as soon as I tried it on I knew it was the one, and the veil added so much to the whole look. It was quite simple really.
Groom’s attire… Rented all Grooms and ushers suits from Groom hire in Wilmslow (conveniently located across the road from Suzanne Neville) the Groom was in Light grey whilst best man and ushers were in dark grey.
The Readings + Music…. We selected our music together; I hated the bridal march so instead opted for ‘Cannon in D’ by Pachelbel, our Hymns and readings were all traditional and selected for their words and meaning hymn 1 – Make me a Channel of your Peace, hymn 2 – One More step along the world I go. Reading 1 Corinthians 13.
Beautiful bridesmaids….. Dresses all handmade and designed by Leanne Alphonso in Goa India. Bridesmaids all hand selected by Nic ☺ – 3 friends and her now Sister in Law.
The Flowers… Designed by the wonderful Matt Hepplestone @ Red Floral Architecture
The Cake… Designed and Created by Lisa from Diva Designer Cakes
Your Photographer…. The Wonderful Matt Agan, who worked Super Duper hard from too early until too late, to produce such amazing pictures.
The Details + Decor…. Initially we opted for a red, grey (silver) and white theme, however whilst researching colour boards, I saw the colour combo of yellow, grey and white, and loved it, it reflected so much of what we wanted to portray on the day, sunshine, happiness, and ducks! We also provided each of our guests their very own passport with picture ,personal message, and table details. Women’s Favours we bought pashminas from India and for the men a lottery ticket. We gave Matt from Red Floral quite a lot of freedom on the design, however we definitely wanted to incorporate ducks and giant balloons into our décor… and anything else yellow that could fit our wacky ways! We walked into a marigold glove tree, more ducks that possible to count and beautiful yellow flowers.
The Honeymoon…. ‘training it’ around Eurpoe: cities visited: Amsterdam, Brussels, Paris, Annecy, Lyon, Marseille, Nice, Rome, Florence, Venice and finally Barcelona. – too much money spent and too much food eaten, but we had the time of our lives and each day provided a new memory. A beach holiday would have been just too boring, but we made a conscious decision to leave the following week so we had time to embrace the post wedding chatter!
Memorable moments… Stage diving and crowd surfing on the bands last song!
Advice for other couples… Remember this is your day, Invest in a good band, ours was amazing and had the dancefloor filled from start to finish. It will always be the little personal touches which people will remember and talk about day after day, and tell the event organiser to save you some cake in the back to enjoy the next day ☺
