Morning WWWers, and happy international Saturday (again already!!).
This week we travel to Ontario, Canada for the beautiful and natural engagement session of Alyssa and Dave. This stylish couple went back to the spot where Dave proposed with a super cool red Chevrolet truck. I love the animals that managed to sneak into the shots too :-) Such wonderful photographs.
Thanks so much to Justina Phippen Photography for sharing her images today, here is what she had to say about the shoot;
“I always love when engagement sessions just turn out so natural and beautiful! Alyssa is one of my friends and collaborates on the style part of some of my fashion shoots, and I KNEW that this should would deliver in the style department. I haven’t been around Dave and Alyssa too much together, but during their session I could really see the love they have for each other. We had so much fun doing this shoot in such a personal place for them, and I loved that they brought their dog Tex along for the ride! My favourite part of the shoot had to be the cows wandering in the background – perfect for Northern Ontario! I cannot wait to shoot their New Years Eve wedding this year!”

Alyssa tells me; “Dave and I met six and half years ago through mutual friends. We hit if off right away, and although we are so different it is truly our love for each other that keeps our relationship going strong. We definitely bring out the best in each other. When Dave proposed it was an easy “yes” it just felt like the next step for us, but I was still so surprised when it happened. I was not expecting it at all, which made the moment that more special. We both knew we wanted to be together forever and so the idea of getting married has just felt natural.”

“We went back and forth as to where we would have our engagement pictures taken, our home, parents home… we wanted something different but also personal, something close to the heart, so when Dave suggested we just go back to where he proposed it was a no brainer.
The family farm is where Dave lived when we first met and so we have many memories there. Behind the farm house is a field on a hill and this is where we would go to check the cattle and look at the beautiful view of the lake. July 26th 2011 is the day Dave decided he wanted to go back to this spot on horseback and to my surprised there was a beautiful ring sitting on the fence post. I still tear up thinking about that moment.”

“When we returned to take our engagement pictures almost one year later it brought back all those memories. We also decided to bring Dave’s fathers restored 1965 chevrolet truck. Since this is a family business and has been a part of Dave’s life forever (and my love for all things vintage) made this red truck the perfect prop.
I absolutely love everything about these pictures; Justina (who is an amazing photographer and friend) truly captured our personalities in a special environment. Can’t wait for our upcoming New Years eve wedding!”

How beautiful are they?! Love!!
Thanks so much for sharing guys XOXO Lou
