Its about the love this afternoon, and the love between David and Lauren is oh so sweet. David’s words about his fiance Lauren had me all emotional. These two are made for one another and i think you are going to adore their story. I love this laid back shoot in Holland Park so very much.
Thanks so much to WWW favourite, the brilliant Miki Photography for sharing his photographs with us today, here is what he had to say about the shoot;
“I first met David & Lauren at the first ever wedding I shot – well I say met they actually observed me running around and liked the results and booked me! So fast forward to the present and they’re getting married this year and we finally got a chance to hook up and capture some shots for their engagement. Lauren has an ease about her in front of the camera, not only does she look great but she naturally does things that sometimes you have to help other people with. With David I call him Mr Involved because he has got to be hands down the most involved groom to be I’ve ever met. Not only was it he who booked me (usually its the bride) but he was able to answer every question about every detail of the wedding plans without once looking at Lauren! lol – now that’s something! His reasoning is he wants to be as much a part of the planning process as possible. So put that together a guy who’s fully committed to the process with a girl who knows how to do ‘her thang’ and it’s a winning combination for me, look for good light and boom let the magic happen! Since it was Jubilee weekend we decided to hang around Holland Park and because of gloomy afternoon forecast we met early in the morning which was great as it meant quiet roads and plenty of room to manoeuvre.”

David: “We first met at work, we can both remember the actual day “August 4th 2008″. We soon found that we had quite similar likes and dislikes and so having certain things in common meant it was easier for us to become friends. Wanting to try and keep our blossoming friendship discrete, we often met for lunch and spoke on the phone out of working hours. This went on for quite some time but it soon became clear that the strong bond we had in the beginning wasn’t just a growing friendship but something even more special. Sounds a little cliché but she is not just a pretty face. Lauren is a beautiful woman on the inside and out. I’m blessed and very proud to have her by my side, to be able to call her my wife is a dream come true. Her drive, determination and passion to do her best is definitely a quality I love!”

Lauren: “Yes it’s been amazing to see our relationship develop and grow and one of the best things is that it was founded on getting to know each other as friends first. So now we are the best of friends; we share everything big and small, day and night. Also another great thing is the laughter… 99% of the time we are together we are giggling like two little children. I love the way he always seems to make me smile. Even when I try really really hard not to! I love the way David is soo serious and stern to ‘the outside’ but with me he is the complete opposite. David is a true gentleman through and though…. He still opens the car door for me (let’s see how long that will last once were married) but really looking forward to finding out lol!”

David: “After a while of being together it was obvious I was going to spend the rest of my life with her and so I planned to propose. I took Lauren out for a meal to Gaucho, this restaurant has good memories for us as it we first went there for Laurens birthday. I tried to play it cool throughout the meal as I had planned to pop the question just before dessert. As she returned from the loo after the main course I had already placed the ring in its box into the inside of my blazer pocket. I think she knew something was up when I started explaining how I felt about her and all that she meant to me. At this point I had plucked up enough courage to move away from my seat and position myself in front of her. I dropped to one knee whilst reaching towards the inside of my pocked. She gasped as I revealed the little red box and with a quivering lip asked her to be my wife. To which she replied “YES!”

Lauren: “It was such an amazing surprise! But I’d actually known something hadn’t been quite right for weeks. He kept disappearing on various afternoons and his phone was always off and I couldn’t get hold of him. So when he proposed it all made sense – he’d been going ring shopping haha! We’ve been planning the wedding for over a year now and having our family and friends share in the day will be something to remember. Growing up you can wonder will I ever find that one special someone who’s for me? The answer for us is yes, it is by no accident that we have met and friendship grown to this stage. Our wedding day will be a special moment in each of our lives, you really can’t ask for much more than that.”

Awwww thanks so much for sharing guys!! Wasn’t that beautiful? XOXO Lou
