Afternoon you guys :-) I am thrilled to be interviewing a fabulous photographer today, the lovely London based Julie from Little Jewel Photography.
I adore the tone to Julie shots, along with the strong emotion she captures in a truly natural way. Lets get to know her.
{w} Hi Julie, could you firstly tell {www} readers a little bit about you?
I’m Julie, or Jules to my friends and I’m the photographer at Little Jewel Photography. I’m a contemporary lifestyle photographer covering weddings, engagements, bridal boudoir and rock the frock photography. I cover London and the South East but will travel for the right wedding!

{w} What do you love/dislike about your job?
I love the diversity of my job; no two weddings are ever the same so that keeps it really exciting and fun! I particularly love it when brides (and grooms) have really taken the effort to tailor their wedding to reflect their personalities. I also love the fact that I get to spend the most important day of their lives with them; it is a real honour.
I dislike the British weather sometimes as it plays havoc with my hair!

{w} How did you get into photography and into the wedding industry?
I studied journalism at university many years ago and specialised in photojournalism in my second and third years. This was back in the day of film photography and dark rooms. I always dreamed of converting the cupboard under the stairs into a darkroom at home but it never quite materialised! It was after doing a digital photography and editing course at my local school of art that I really got interested in wedding photography and it just grew from there.

{w} What do you aim to achieve for your clients?
My aim is to provide my clients with a set of images that they’ll treasure for the rest of their lives. Photographs that they’ll show to their children and grandchildren.

{w} What style is your work?
My style of photography is all about creating spontaneous, natural images with a romantic, elegant feel. I love working in a reportage or photojournalistic style so that I capture the real emotion of the day.

{w} Could you tell us some information about your packages/prices?
I offer two packages for couples to choose from. A full-day (from bridal preparation to first dance) is £1,250 and a half-day (from bridal preparation to wedding breakfast) is £800. For weddings outside of London and the South East travel expenses may apply.

{w} Do you have any tips for couples in selecting their wedding photographer?
My top tip would be to meet up with your photographer in person before booking them. They’ll be spending a lot of time with you on your wedding day so it’s really important that you get on well with them and that they make you feel relaxed. Also ask to see a few weddings from start to finish to get a real feel for their style.

[...] Whimsical Wonderland Weddings is one of my favourite wedding blogs; featuring the kind of weddings that I love to photograph. Lou (the boffin behind {www}) was kind enough to feature the wedding of Gaby & James that I shot last summer and now I have a fantastic feature on there called In The Hot Seat! [...]
