It’s international Saturday already!? Where do the weeks keep going? I’m not going to moan, as i love Saturdays and this slot; as an excuse to travel the globe.

This week we head to the Utah mountains for a beautiful canoe engagement of Ashley and Spence. They are the sweetest of couples, with an adorable love story which Ashley shares below.

“The warm summer evening of August 26th was the first time that Spencer and I saw each other. Both of us were freshly moved away from home to attend a small-town college located a hop-skip-and-a-jump away from the infamous Las Vegas. We were both looking for a new start and lots of new wild adventures.

We met at the welcoming “Foam Dance” put on by the college, where I danced my shoes off getting soaking wet with fruit-scented foam while Spencer stood watching a ways off, never to actually step foot on the dance floor. After the dance, Spencer acquired enough guts to ask for my number and even text me later that night to ensure that I made it home safely (I should have known from that small act of kind thoughtfulness what I was getting myself into).

Those first few months of dating we lived like retired people – spending our time out of class enjoying the tropical weather, beautiful landscapes, and wonderful artistic talent in the area. We visited national parks, hiked to witness ancient hieroglyphics, and spent warm nights laying on the red desert rock staring at the open skies.

Since that fateful night we met, Spencer has continuously celebrated the 26th of every month as our “anniversary”, where he surprises me with romantic dinners, tickets to my favorite plays, and numerous bottles of sparkling apple juice (his favorite). On March 26th, Spencer gave me the best surprise of all when he asked me to marry him. My joy could not keep me from running around afterward in sweet victorious celebration.

With only 50 more days until our BIG adventure begins, we are both so grateful for the chance we took in moving away from home, to find each other.”
