For this afternoon i thought i would share the next DIY tutorial following on from A DIY Shoot — Fresh + Modern, White Wedding Ideas. And this week i share how to make the super cute woolly pom poms.

I used to make these wool pom poms with my mum, so i thought i would craft these as cute decoration for the plates in the DIY shoot. But these could be used to create garlands, bouquets, place names… the ideas are endless. Not forgetting you can use different coloured wools to create a different look too.

They are so easy and inexpensive to make and you can relax in front of the TV whilst you wind your wool.

♥ Wool

♥ 2 matching cardboard circles

♥ Scissors

1. Place the two cardboard circles together and start wrapping the wool around them. Be sure to keep the end of the wool pointing out of the circle.

2. Once you have completed wrapping the wool around the wool for at least 2 layers, you need to cut the cardboard circles out.

3. Carefully hold the cardboard circles in place whist you knot the remaining lengths of wool from the pom pom together tightly.

4. Once secure remove the cardboard, and fluff up the resulting pom pom :-)

And voila….
