Are you ready for a bit of romance and a lot of swoon? Good :-)
Joanne and Shane were married at The Rectory in Glandore, West Cork, Ireland. They wanted their wedding to be chilled out with a party feel to entertain their guests.
I think Joanne is just the most stylish bride ever, i so love her French Connection belted frock and birdcage veil, she is effortlessly beautiful. And her maids look so pretty in their floral Mango dresses.
I love the pretty flowers sat in the crockery, the handkerchiefs and those shots in the pretty flowers. Take me to Ireland now :-)
Thanks so much to the amazing Magda Lukas Photography for sharing her images with us today.

Names… Joanne and Shane
The Proposal… We had just got back from travelling the world for a year and Shane unexpectedly proposed in a little pub on South William Street. Some people asked him why did he wait until we came back because he could have done it at the top of Machu Picchu, on a beach in Thailand or at the gateway to India but he said there is nowhere he would rather do it than the place we met! Dublin!!
The Vision for the day…. We just wanted a really chilled out wedding, not too much fuss so basically just a big party with close family and friends.
The Planning process…. We planned it all in 3 months and our families helped out loads, our venue was The Rectory in Glandore, West Cork and they were amazing especially Michelle!! Everyone loved the venue and the food was fabulous!!! The thing we loved most about the house though was the beautiful scenery!
The Venue… Shane had gotten a suit made when we were in Vietnam and decided to wear that.
The Dress + Accessories….. I had a slight phobia of wedding dresses so I was really unsure of what i was going to wear and one day I was walking by French Connection and saw my dress in the window. I tried it on and I loved it because it was so light and comfortable and the colour was a really warm creamy peachy colour. So I bought it there and then!!
Beautiful bridesmaids….. I left the bridesmaid dresses up to the girls, I told them they could wear what they wanted but my sister Tara aka Monica took control found these pretty dresses on Mango’s website and she bought 3. I’m so glad she did because they looked beautiful on the girls, they wore all their own accessories to make the dresses their own!!!
The Music…. The music at the ceremony was Bob Marley and UB40 and Shane’s brother David played a Beatles number on the piano.
The Flowers + Cake… The whole day was a family affair my cousin Gillian made the most delicious cupcakes and a huge Terry’s chocolate orange cake which everyone loved! My uber talented Aunt Laura did the lovely flowers
Your Photographer…. All the china was my own and Laura filled them along with the birdcages full of wild flowers! She arranged the vintage suitcases and old chest along with other props beautifully. We also had a Polaroid camera and a dress up box where guests could have a bit of fun and take some pictures!
Your Photographer…. Magda Lukas was our photographer and I can’t believe we were so lucky to get her at such short notice! She was brilliant to have with us on the day, she fit right in, She is a very calm and unintrusive person!! We were so fortunate to get such great weather and Magda captured it so beautifully! I LOVE her!!!!
The Honeymoon…. We went to Vegas and L.A on the honeymoon.
Advice for other couples… My advice to couples is to chill out and relax, you’re not the first to get married and you won’t be the last. There is no point stressing out over things you have no control over! It’s meant to be fun!
Thanks so much to Joanne and Shane for sharing their breathtakingly beautiful wedding with us today. I so love this couple :-) XOXO Lou

Beautiful! I absolutely love the image of them in the daisies with the sun light. It reminds me of a cover of an album in the 70s! Love!
