With the Jubilee just a few weeks away and the Olympics in sight, i thought it would be perfect to start this week with a patriotic shoot.
Photographer Louisa organised and shot this whole concept with a great team of suppliers. I so love the big fat red London bus decked out in pretty red white and blue decor… you cannot get much more British than that right? The model looks stunning, especially with the amazing Union Jack adorned dress.
I think it’s time to start getting excited about this special year for us Brits :-)
Thanks so much to Urban Bridesmaid for sharing her amazing shoot with us, here is what she had to say about the shoot;
“The inspiration behind the shoot first came when driving past Deptford I saw a huge double decker bus sticking out of the wall. After much googling I discovered it was the Big Red – a pizza restaurant that actually was a converted bus! The Big Red is also available for corporate events as well as small intimate wedding receptions with 50 people seated on the bus and 100 in the wider space outside the bus for canapes.With kind permission, I was able to shoot a styled bridal shoot on the bus loosely along the theme of the 70s show”On the Buses” with a “Best of British” nod to the Queen’s Jubilee and Olympics this year. To make the most of the unique location I spoke to a venue decorator (Jacqueline Mars) and a wedding cake maker (Natasha Orumbie, NO cakes r better) and asked them to interpret the London theme and create a tablescape and a wedding cake for a wedding reception on a bus! Union Jacks mix with blue and red spots, bakewell tart favours, supermarket flowers, spotty windows, crisp white seat covers and table cloths and plastic tableware.The actor EJ Martin was our model for the day, wearing the Union Jack dress by the House of Hannigan, which was perfect for the theme! Jacqueline kindly stepped in to play the bus driver with a hand made boutonniere made from a London bus driver badge and rosette, as well as modelling a navy striped jacket, red top and neck scarf as an alternative bridesmaid look to the long satin dress.Smokey eyes and rosy lips by Safiyah from Frooti Beauty complete EJ’s look.”
