An Urban + Stylish Brick Lane Engagement ~ UK Wedding Blog ~ Whimsical Wonderland Weddings

Afternoon WWWers, i am leaving you with this last post for the working week and its a goodie :-)

Katie and Scott are totally head over heels for one another (their commentary is a must read) which makes for the sweetest images. Combine that with the uber cool Brick Lane in London, Alexander McQueen shoes, a stunning ring and gorgeous light and it creates these beautiful shots.

Thanks so much to the amazing Miki Photography for sharing his images today, here is what he had to say about the shoot;

Katie & Scott are getting married in Sept and for their engagement shoot we decided to do it around the Brick Lane area because that’s around the area they both used to live when they first got together.  Scott especially knew all the cool nooks and crannies and highlight of the shoot must have been the 10mins we got shoot on an abandoned car park roof (Scott old teen hang out place) before security chased us off – but it was well worth it! Katie & Scott were a real joy to shoot because the chemistry between them is sooo electric and they must hands down win PDA couple of the year award! : ) I think they would have gladly continued all the poses whether I had been there or not – lol! But I think they look fabulous and what I feel you get from the photos is their amazing sense of connection.”

Katie: “I work in TV Production and so for the shows we film we always need couriers, messengers and cars. Scott works for the firm we used and was my liaison so around filming time would always we’d be spending loads of time together working and then all of us hang out after filming was done, but it was always seasonal so obviously whilst filming we’d see each other all the time but once a show was done we wouldn’t see each for months.”

Scott: “This seeing Katie and then not seeing her went on for 2 years but I’d never have an excuse to call her once filming was done and whenever we went out it was always in the context of a group people, so whilst we’d spent loads of times talking together, laughing, joking we were always in the company of other people. Then one night after all going out, I walked her home and persuaded her to go for one more drink. Finally I’d got her alone and I asked her out. 1 and a half years later (apart from work) we’ve never spent a night apart and in fact in the first six months we were together everyday.”

Katie: “What I love about our relationship is that we’d spent 2yrs and such intense times hanging out with each other that we hadn’t realised we’d already built this amazing friendship up, so when we got together it was like there was this great foundation which just made our relationship a lot deeper, which is probably why it was easy to spend so much time together so quickly. We’re also starting to really rub off on one another, when I was young I wouldn’t be seen dead on a bike – it was so uncool, but Scott’s really into them. In the last year I’ve now bought two lol!”

Scott: “I really just love hanging out with her and being able to share all these things together makes it all the more special. I’m not just off here doing my thing and she hers, we’re kinda building this life together, and it’s really special, intimate and cool. So when I proposed and we started talking about our wedding day we wanted it to reflect that, we wanted something, relaxed and intimate but reflective of us! So we’ll be getting married in Sept amongst close family and friends at Marleybone Town Hall. I’m from Scotland so me and my groomsmen will be in full Scottish attire and Katie won’t show me the dress but I’ve seen the shoes and they’re these amazing Alexander McQueens ha! In fact her search for them has been so intense and frenetic that when we finally found them, Mick out photographer convinced us to feature them in the Engagement shoot. LOL! Then we’ll have this really cool pub all to our selves for a proper sit down dinner, can’t wait!”
