Here is what Jen had to say…

“I was living in a shared house in Cornwall back when Ben came on a birthday trip to visit one of my house-mates. Having not much to do, I joined in with the party.

When Ben and I met I was living in Cornwall, planning a move to the Alps to work in a ski resort. Ben had just started a degree, with plans to become a podiatrist and get a career.

I liked Ben a lot, but living in England just wasn’t for me at the time, and I had to go. The timing of our meeting was terrible. Well, it would have been terrible, if Ben hadn’t given up his course and come to France with me.

The following 5 years saw us living in many different countries, snowboarding in the winter, and doing various jobs in the summers, including working aboard luxury yachts. In total we have lived at nine different address’s since we met.

Realising his lucky escape from being a foot doctor, Ben decided to train as a yoga teacher, which really suits him. This brought us back to the UK for two years.

The proposal came about sort of by accident. On a trip to London, I found a cope of the Metro whilst on the Tube. Thinking how similar the names were to ours on the cover got me into a little DIY. How proud I was when the words now read ‘To my darling, Ben, will you marry me? Lots of love, Jen’. I took a picture on my phone, text it to Ben, and then my phone battery ran out and I thought nothing more of it.

Eight hours later, driving home, it came on the radio news that Prince William had announced his engagement to Kate Middleton. Then I remembered what I had done. Had I proposed? Yes, I guess I had.

When I got home, Ben opened the door looking a little bit frightened, asking ‘Is this real’ and holding his phone up with the photo message showing on the screen.

We both decided there and then that it was actually a pretty awesome idea, and so we announced the news, to everyone’s delight.

We both Loved having the engagement shoot with Albert, and he really captured our personalities and how we feel about each other in his wonderful pictures. I’d recommend him to anyone.”

Jen also makes amazing bridal accessories over at A Head Full Of Feathers go see :-)

Thanks so much to Jen and Ben for sharing their story today XOXO Lou

I'm fairly sure this couple's wedding was featured on rock'n'roll bride in April - it's 'the' best rainbow themed UK wedding I think I've ever seen. (sorry to promote another blog but I think colourful brides will be interested).
