I am so happy to be introducing you to another of {www}s newest sponsors and member of the {www} vendor love family Dolceroopa Wedding & Bespoke Stationery. Dolceroopa creates the most stunning, whimsical and special wedding stationery, and you are going to love their designs just as much as me….
{w} Hi Roopa, could you firstly tell {www} readers a little bit about you?
Hi, I’m Roopa and I’m the designer and stationer at Dolceroopa Wedding & Bespoke Stationery. I’m originally from NY but have been in London now for 4 years. My heritage is Indian, but I’ve lived in the UAE, Italy, and the United States and most recently the UK. I Love to create and have a passion for great design, quality printing and a bespoke service.

{w} What do you love/dislike about your job?
I love being able to take a couple’s vision and personality and apply it to their stationery and their wedding day needs. Everyone has such a unique sense of style and individuality and doing something that is often different to mine is very interesting and fun.
I have yet to experience something I dislike about my job, but that is perhaps because I am a relatively new business so everything is still very fresh and exciting to me!

{w} How did you get into your design and into the wedding industry?
I have a BFA in illustration from Syracuse University in NY and have been working as an illustrator and designer in the stationery field for over ten years. I got married in September 2011 and designed my own wedding stationery from the invitations to the menu cards and orders of service. I absolutely fell in love with the entire design process and decided it was time to launch my own business since I seemed to be gaining lots of interest from family and friends who were planning their weddings. After spending time helping them out it seemed like the natural thing for me to do and I haven’t looked back since!

{w} What do you aim to achieve for your clients?
I aim to provide my clients with unique bespoke pieces that represent their wishes and personality to make for a wonderful introduction to their special day. I truly do believe that a beautiful piece of stationery sets the mood and tone of a wedding and there are so many unique ways for couples to express themselves and draw their guests and families in to their event. I believe in listening and patience and in helping to guide a couple through to achieve a wedding suite they are in love with.

{w} What style is your work?
I am very versatile and fluid in my style given the diversity of clients that exist. Coming from an illustration background I enjoy bringing aspects of traditional illustration as well as patterning and design to my pieces. My invitation sets are both sophisticated and whimsical and I feel offer a different twist to a very traditional invite.

{w} Could you tell us some information about your packages/prices?
At the moment I work on a bespoke basis, although I am currently also working on a ready to order line that will launch in several months. Due to the unique nature of each invitation set and client requirements I believe in working with a client and their budget to achieve a stationery set they are happy with. Printing techniques I work with are digital and letterpress, letterpress being more expensive due to the labor intensive nature of the printing technique. I work with excellent printers at competitive prices and encourage couples to send me an email with their requirements so a detailed quote can be provided.

{w} Do you have any tips for couples in selecting their wedding supplier?
As with planning my own recent wedding, I know how trying it can be to find suppliers who listen intently to what you want and also know how to balance that with good, insightful suggestions based on their industry knowledge. Take your time deciding on suppliers and visit more than one. If you get a good gut feeling about one chances are you are right!

{w} How can we get in touch with you?
You can find me on my website, www.dolceroopa.com/weddings and via email at roopa@dolceroopa.com. I also have a dolceroopa page on facebook and you can follow me on twitter!
Thanks so much Roopa, please do visit her beautiful site, and if you make an enquiry be sure to mention {www} :-) XOXO Lou
