You may well have heard about the photo booth concept before at a wedding… and i have featured shots from photo booths at weddings before on {www}.

They are such a great idea at any kind of event, but especially at weddings. Your guests can relax, let their hair down, put down their cameras… and let the pro’s take the snaps. Plus it’s so much fun looking at the pictures the day after.

{w} Hi Rick, could you firstly tell {www} readers a little bit about you?

Hi, I’m Rick. I created, developed and now manage Shoot Boutique in partnership with my wife Laverne. As well as us both managing the photo booth, I also have a commercial photography studio and Laverne works part time as a theatre nurse.
Although we both have very different professional backgrounds when our skills are combined we find they are all extremely valuable and enable us to work well together, hand in hand as a husband and wife team…When Laverne gets her own way!

{w} What makes Shoot Boutique different from other photo booths?

Shoot Boutique is a next generation, Touch screen photo booth. The unique thing about our booth is it’s triangular shape; the design gives you much more space to shoot whilst retaining the same footprint as a standard booth.

Having the extra space inside is what makes Shoot Boutique so versatile. It’s the only photo booth that can shoot anything from fabulous full-length photographs to group shots with more than 20 people and everything in between. There is so much space for people to get creative; no two pictures are ever the same!

Rather than have a shabby old curtain as a background we decided to use the extra space to create a set that can be changed to suit different wedding themes and colour schemes. {w} what do you love/dislike about your job?

Like: I absolutely love downloading the images from the booth the next day. There is something really special about seeing how different groups of people use the same space; it really makes personalities jump out. We always see something new; we’re often in stitches!

Dislike: The drive home! It’s often 1am by the time we’ve got the photo booth back in the van. We’re based in Manchester but travel all over the country with Shoot Boutique so we’re usually looking at a 3 or four-hour journey home. The first hour is great, we’re usually buzzing but after that I rely on GIANT Americano with double espresso to get us home safely, although it usually works a little too well and I can’t sleep when I get home!

{w} What do you aim to achieve for your clients?

We aim to provide the best photo booth service on the market. We’ve looked at every element of the standard photo booth service and thought hard about how we can improve it. We don’t stick to conventions; we strive to offer our clients something unique that can reflect their individuality.
As well as working hard on the conceptual and technical side of Shoot Boutique we pride ourselves in offering a very personal, professional service to each and every one of our clients. Having only been married ourselves for just over 18 months we appreciate the stress and hard work that goes into planning a wedding, and we try our best to make our service as stress free as possible.

{w} Do you have any tips for couples in selecting a photo booth?

 
Not all photo booths are created equal.  There is quite a huge variation in standards between booths and there are some awful outfits out there at the moment. Have a good look at some exterior shots and the company’s example images and use these to make your choice. I have noticed the quality vary wildly from some of the images on the front page of company’s sites to their actual event photos. It’s a good idea to have a look at their recent events in their online gallery or Facebook page and get a feel for how your photos will look.

{w} Could you tell us some information about your packages/prices?
