I thought this wedding would be perfect for this afternoon, full of atmospheric, moody and stunning images. This beautifully styled wedding has a red and black theme, bringing glamour and oodles of sophistication.
Bride Danielle looks every inch the glamorous bride {I’m not jealous at all — not — hehe} and i so love the feel of this wedding. From the lanterns to the card suitcase, the chocolate wedding cake to the singing waiters.… this is rammed packed with gorgeous inspiration.
Thanks so much to the wonderful Jennifer Sue Weddings, wedding stylist extraordinaire for submitting this gorgeous wedding to me and to Galloway Photography for sharing their images today:
Names…. Paul and Danielle
Wedding Date…. 11th August 2011
The Proposal…. Paul proposed in June 2010 before being deployed to Afghanistan for 7 months. It was a very romantic proposal on a gorgeous summer’s day in Shropshire. We went for a picnic and Paul was walking behind me and when I turned around to see he was down on one knee with the most beautiful and amazing ring. He also proposed AGAIN in Rome (which had been his original plan but our trip was too close to him going away).
The Vision for the day…. We really wanted an elegant yet relaxed wedding. We had red, ivory and black detail on our invite and used that as our colour inspiration for the day.
The Planning process…. 12 months of planning went into the wedding. Paul and I planned it all ourselves with Jennifer arranging the décor for the barn.
The Venue… Loseley Park Guildford.
The Dress + Accessories….. My dress was a Victoria Sable Satin gown, with a birdcage veil and a beautifully detailed evening headpiece of pearls and diamantes.
Finding the dress…. I found the dress a year to the day of our wedding, and it was the 27th one I tried on. I found it with my mum, which was incredibly important to me.
Groom’s attire… Paul and the male bridal party wore modern suits by Jack Bunneys.
The Readings + Music…. A poem was read by Paul’s sister Claire, and further readings were done by a good friend, Jonathan Toomey, and by my godfather and uncle John Swift.
Beautiful bridesmaids….. My bridesmaids were my sister Kelley, my best friend since University, Alison (who was 7months pregnant) and my three best friends who I worked with in Kent — Carmen, Carmel and Heather. All wore rich red strapless dresses.
The Flowers… The wedding party flowers and bouquets were designed and made by the Lady of the house, Sarah More Molynex. The bride carried red roses with pearls stringed through them, likewise the bridesmaids with cream roses, all tied with ivory lace.
The Cake… We had an amazing cake. It had three layers: one chocolate, one vanilla and one citrus. It was covered with white chocolate cigalerros and had black ribbon, pearls and fresh red roses for decoration. It was made by Caroline at in2 cake.
Your Photographer…. Our photographers were Galloway Photography. They were incredible! We did not even know they were there!
The Details + Décor…. Jen from Jennifer Sue Weddings took our colour scheme and the feel of the barn and created a really amazing look. She made centerpieces of black gloss vases, with willow branches bedded into moss, and nests of cream and black roses tied in. She hired cream damask linens and black charger plates, then tied red ribbons around the napkins with the names tucked in. The ceiling was stunning, with lanterns over the dance floor and a canopy of lights over the wedding breakfast.
The Honeymoon…. We moved to NYC the day after our wedding so that kept us busy!
Memorable moments… Our most memorable parts of the day were of course the marriage ceremony and my husband’s speech. We also had fantastic surprise entertainment in the form of ‘singing sensation’, Waiters Encore.
Advice for other couples… Make sure your wedding is exactly how you want it to be. It is your vision. Do not try to please other people, because it just isn’t possible; and, besides, it’s not their wedding!!

WOW! I love this, everything about it! The colour red and black work really well together, I also love the personal touches to the day (especially the name tags on the bottle!) My fav shot is of them walking away from the camera with the hedges on either side. Just fab! :D
