So from here out i will be posting more weddings in one post, with the wedding report at the bottom for ease of use and reference to you. You spoke, i listened, i hope you like the new layout ;-) Ps… i know you just want more weddings you cheeky things, i will be trying to get more to you hehe!!

So onto this morning’s gorgeous wedding. A sun shining, modern classic wedding, with a shot of bright pink thrown in for good measure. Becky makes a beautiful bride, and i love her rocking her glasses… i want to see more bespectacled brides!! ;-)

Thanks so much to the Bristol based wedding photographer, Martins Kikulis Photography for sharing his super gorgeous work today, here is what he had to say about the day;

I met Paul and Rebecca a few months back to talk through their wedding plans and I immediately understood – their wedding is gonna be quite special! The sheer excitement in their eyes when they talked about their wedding and showed me some snapshots of their wedding venue, the Manor House Hotel.. And I was right, the wedding really was special – the attention to details, the venue, the picturesque Gloucestershire village Moreton-in-Marsh, the car… oh yes, the car… it was one of the finest Rolls Royce’s I have ever seen.. – everything just fitted in perfectly to make the big day of Paul and Becky unforgettable! I’m glad I was a part of their day and hopefully I managed to capture Paul and Becky’s day just the way it was..

Wedding Date + Venue…

We got married on the 21st May 2011 at The Manor House Hotel in Moreton-in-Marsh.

The Dress..

I had been to many bridal shops in a short space of time to try and find my wedding dress, we only booked the venue at the end of January 2011 so I had a limited choice as to what dress I could have as I was told that a dress could not be made in 4 months, so I had to look for an ‘off the rack dress’. I knew I wanted a sweetheart neckline but that was all. After thinking I had found my dress we visited Linda Gray Bridal Shop in Gloucester to look for bridesmaid dresses and I thought I would have a look at wedding dresses. I was shown to the sale section and only found one dress I liked so I tried it on and it really suited me. I was told I would have to pay in full and take it away with me there and then; I was not sure so I said I would think about it. We went to look at more bridesmaid dresses and it dawned on me that the dress I had tried on was ‘the’dress, I think the thought of some one else taking the dress helped me make up my mind. So I rang and they still had it. I cried, I think more from relief of finding my dress and went to get my dress. I paid in full and took it away with me. Amanda Wyatt, ‘Celeste’ ivory satin dress, sleek and simple.

The Accessories…

Veil was my ‘some thing borrowed’ from my bridesmaid Carly Little who got married New Years Eve 2009. I found a hair comb I liked and choose the rest of my jewelry around it.

Hair comb, Krystal London — Wide Swarovski crystal bridal hair comb

Earrings Precious Starlet

Clip On Earrings from Glitzy secrets

Necklace Crystal ‘Teardrop’ Pendant — In Swarovski Crystal

Bracelet from Swarovski called Tennis Bracelet  – this was a bargain, got it for £60 from House of Fraser when they had a sale on. This was all bought the week before the wedding!

I knew I did not want ivory shoes, and with my theme being pink and purple I knew I had to get bright pink shoes! Getting wedding shoes coloured was expensive so I bought mine from Kurt Geiger, which had huge heels and of course I could not wear them all night!

Hair + Make-up.…

Make up was done by Kate Gordon. I wanted to look like a better version of me, so quite natural. I let Kate try different things, but was very much guided by what she thought was best for me. My hair was done by Kerry at Cotswold Belles.  I know that not every hair style suits me and I did not want my hair to get in my way during the day so I knew I wanted my hair up. We tried a few things and I was surprised to find I preferred a French pleat, which worked perfectly with my sleek dress and my hair comb.

The Flowers

I wanted the table decorations to wow everyone as they walked into the room so I knew I had to have bright pink and purple flowers. After finding out the cost of what I wanted we decided to have balls of carnations on tall vases filled with coloured water as this would create an impact without costing the earth. We mirrored this with small domes of carnations on the top table and in the posies for my
bridesmaids. I love peonies so had bright pink ones as my bouquet with a few ranunculus wrapped in pink ribbon. The pins were from the bouquet that Carly threw at her wedding (which I caught) and the brooch was my late Nana’s. Button holes were also pink carnations (the only pink I could get the men to wear).

The Bridesmaids + Ushers.…

Suits were hired from Wedding Days of Cheltenham  and we managed to get matching cravats to match the bridesmaid dresses (which were a dark purple, almost aubergine colour).

Bridesmaid dresses were from Alfred Angelo from Future Brides, Bristol. We actually had them altered as they were more A line than we thought (from trying on wrong sizes and the length being too long – note to brides, make sure your bridesmaids try dresses on with shoes! We had to pay extra to get a rush cut done (would have been so much cheaper to have them made.)

Groom’s attire…

Paul also wore a hired suit from Wedding Days, dark grey with an ivory shirt and ivory silk waistcoat with dark purple cravat and Ted Baker shoes. We both got new glasses for the day from Piccadilly Opticians in Birmingham, Paul’s were J F Rey, modern but different.

Your Photographer…

I found about 6 photographers who I knew were free on our wedding date, We had an idea who we wanted to go with but we also asked a colleague who is a photographer which one he thought was best and he said Martins Kikulis. After meeting Martins over coffee to discuss photography and our wedding we knew that he confirmed our thoughts that he would be able to capture our wedding in an informal way, just the way we wanted.

The Cake…

At first we were going to get Chocolate Curls Wedding Cake (made of sponge with rolled chocolate on the outside) from M&S, but then I saw a picture of a cake by Peggy Porschen and I was totally inspired to have a similar cake although with large bright pink roses. All the tiers were vanilla sponge with the top tier being wheat free for me :-)

The Entertainment…

During the day we hired a giant Jenga and Connect 4 and bought some space hoppers as I knew that these would be great for having photos on and I was right! We had canapés and drinks on the patio whilst having our more formal photos taken. For the evening we hired a DJ from Bonehead Productions which happened to be Ben from Star Radio (a local radio station), he was on strict instructions not to let my bridesmaid Claire have her favorite song played, ‘The Littlest Hobo’. He did a great job and we even did the Conga and Oops upside your head! We also hired a photo booth from Picture Blast which came with a dressing up box. We have got some great photos from this and they really tell a story as the evening goes on.

The Music.…

We had chosen our songs for the ceremony 2 months before our wedding but we could not find anything that we were overly bothered about as our first dance. We kept looking but ended up choosing one the day before the wedding! At Last by Etta James, I have since heard it on 2 films were I had never noticed it before.

The Details + Décor…

We choose not to have favours on the table but to have the photo booth in the evening, as everyone that went into the photo booth got a print of the picture they had taken, a real reminder of our wedding day. We also had a sweet table in the evening.

We hired 2 cottages around the corner from the venue which meant me and my family and bridesmaids all got ready together in the morning, we would never have captured some of the photos if we had been staying in the hotel as we would have all been in separate rooms.

Even though we stayed 10 minutes away from the hotel we still hired a car to take us. It was a lovely old Rolls Royce called they called ‘Walter’, we choose this one as it was my late Granddads’ name. We had a lot of photos taken in front of the car at the cottage and after the ceremony at the hotel and we even managed to have a 10 minute drive in the car so we could have a bit of time to ourselves.

We did not run to schedule all day which meant we ran into the evening do. We had a line up to greet people as many people had not met my parents and this was a good way to do so. Paul had 2 best men which meant we had four speeches which lasted just over an hour. I wish I would have had 10 minutes to freshen up in between the day and evening and have time with my husband.

Thanks so much to Paul and  Becky for sharing their stunning wedding with us… do leave them some comment love below :-) xoxo
