Morning :-) I hope you have had a restful weekend and are raring to go…
I have some of the most exquisite and emotive wedding photography ever to grace these blog pages today.
Claire and Adam wanted a festival and Glastonbury type theme to their day, a laid back countryside do, which was uber stylish. How absolutely STUNNING is Claire’s Charlotte Balbier ‘Garbo’ dress… i am in love!! Claire also rocks the current trend of wearing flowers in your hair… so so pretty.
Thanks so much to the amazing UK based wedding photographers, McKinley-Rodgers Photography, for sharing their work today, here is what they had to say about the day;
“What can we say about this wedding…? Well, from the moment we met Claire and Adam for their pre-wedding shoot in Bristol, we were looking forward to their big day. All weddings are wonderful, but when you really like the couple involved, well it just makes it extra special :) We love the fact that they have been together forever. We love the fact that Adam is hilariously funny. And we love the fact that they just look insanely happy together. Even the weather gods love them, and despite grey drizzly rain before the ceremony, Claire and Adam exited to sunshine and blue skies. Perfect. Like them :)”
The Proposal….
In Berlin overlooking gendarmenmarkt square and the Christmas markets. Okay, that is where it ended up. It began with a proposal in the flat before a surprise trip to Luton…and then Berlin.
The Vision for the day….
To embrace the spirit of Glastonbury and other music festivals that we have attended several times over the past ten years; a relaxed, summer fete environment with loved ones having a darn good knees up.
Beautiful bridesmaids…..
One cousin (Claire’s maid of honour – or old maid as she calls herself) , one god daughter (9), two grown up sisters (of Adams) – all in differing off the peg dresses for a relaxed and informal feel.
The Planning process….
Last minute! Having got engaged well over a year beforehand, we left most of the planning to the preceding few months – which were frantic but good fun.
The Venue…
St Peter’s Church and then reception at Southrop Manor Estate next door.
The Dress + Accessories…..
Garbo by Charlotte Balbier and a beautiful full length veil. Claire’s nan’s wedding ring for something old and Adam’s nan’s diamond and sapphire ring for borrowed and blue. Amazing little shop in Windsor with the nicest, relaxed and lovely people running the shop. Knew I wanted the dress before I even tried it on.
Groom’s attire…
Hackett suit and shirt, love heart tie by Reiss, handkerchief and shoes Paul Smith.
The Readings + Music….
An adaptation of ‘In the Aeroplane Over the Sea’ by Jeff Magnum (read by Claire’s friend of 28 years) and 1 Corinthians 13 – epistle on Love (read by Adam’s dad)
I will be back later with part two… love love xoxo
