I actually have a crush on this gorgeous, fun and carefree couple this afternoon…. they are fab!! And indeed their wedding photographer for that matter as these images blow-my-mind…
Alex and Ben wanted a simple and chic wedding, which was all about the love, the outfits {omg Alex’s Valentino dres… i die!!} and the photography…. just about my kind of wedding. I shhhhh now and leave you to devour this beautiful wedding.
Thanks so much to the amazing UK based wedding photographer, Ellie Gillard Photography for sharing her images this afternoon, here is what she had to say about the day;
“A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of photographing Alex and Ben’s amazing and fuss free London wedding. They married at Chelsea Town Hall surrounded by only close friends and family and kept the number of details to a minimum, other than Alex’s amazing short Valentino dress e.g. the bride carrried no flowers, there was no formal reception etc. However what they did want was a photographers dream, they wanted an amazing magazine style shoot in various locations around London so we found ourselves on a private champagne flight on the London Eye, in front of a red telephone box, On Westminster Bridge in front of Big Ben and finally in (yes, in) a fountain on the South Bank. They were amazingly photogenic and I barely had to direct them at all, they just knew how to rock it.”
The Dress + Accessories…..
Alex chose a Valentino dress and Bloch shoes. Pearl bracelet and diamond earrings complimented it nicely. During the ceremony Alex was also wearing a simple short veil.
Finding the dress was easy as Alex didn’t want a traditional wedding dress so she went shopping to all designer shops and found her Valentino dress which she fell in love with after only 4 hours of shopping!
The Proposal….
You can find all details here http://benlovesalex.com/?page_
The Vision for the day….
We wanted to jet off to Vegas and have a big party with friends, but work commitments didn’t allow us to go for this option as would require taking some time off so we decided to have a small ceremony which our parents could attend and then have a big party with all friends later on. We also had another wedding planned for later in the year in Belarus just for Alex’s family and our friends there to be able to join in and share the day with us. Quick, simple, modern and indulging – that’s what we wanted our London wedding to be and that’s what we got!
The Planning process….
Alex didn’t want to get stressed out about planning, cakes, guests etc, so we were keeping it simple. Booked time at the Registry Office, booked a nice restaurant for lunch and London Eye for evening reception, Alex got her hairdresser to come do her hair on the day and we moved on to the fun part of shopping for wedding attire J Ben done most of the planning actually because Alex couldn’t care less about little details, she’s made her big decision to get married and everything else didn’t bother her much.
The Venue…
We got married at Chelsea and Kensington Register Office, had lunch at Gordon Ramsay’s Maze and then an evening champagne reception at a private capsule of the London Eye.
Groom’s attire…
Gucci suit+shirt, Prada shoes and Versace tie.
The Readings + Music….
We decided not to have any readings during the ceremony. We had a famous Russian gypsy melody playing when Alex was walking in the room “Dve Gitary” (2 Guitars) and after the ceremony we played Barry White “Love’s Theme”.
Your Photographer….
Amazing Ellie Gillard. We wanted glamorous yet natural photos, some that would bring out our personalities and also show the beautiful London landmarks and she’s done exactly this! http://
Memorable moments…
Being 30 minutes late for the wedding, taking Ben’s hand during the ceremony and realizing how nervous and emotional he was as it was shaking violently, super small but super tasty dished at the restaurant, amazing views of London from the top of the London Eye.
Advice for other couples…
Instead of organizing a big party for people you don’t really know get married in a Register Office and splash out of yourself and treat yourself to most amazing outfits and holidays!
The Honeymoon….
Because of the busy work schedule we had to break in into several mini honeymoons (weekend getaways) – in France, Belarus and Bulgaria.
Thanks so much to Alex and Ben for sharing their amazing day with us xxxx
