Pretty, Real Weddings
A Hazy Sunshine Spring Wedding
11.05.2011

I adore Spring weddings, i may even go as far to say Spring is my favourite season and brings my favourite weddings too :-) This wedding is no exception, bright, light and sunny images.

I adore this beautiful couple, Rachel’s stunning dress, the gorgeous venue, Notely Abbey , the fab personal touches and pretty blooms.

Thanks so much to the wonderful, London based wedding photographer, Matt Parry Photography for sharing his work, here is what he had to say about the day;

“ok..so mid march isnt officially british summertime. but the blue skies, hazy sunshine and flowers in bloom gave rachel and craig’s special day at the stunning notley abbey a real summertime feel! another wonderful couple who have been together since their schooldays and really suit the label of childhood sweethearts! thanks for a great day guys and here are a few of my faves with a slideshow at the bottom. photos by me and music by feist..enjoy!”

The Vision for the day….

A SIMPLE AND ELEGANT DAY IN KEEPING WITH THE VENUE, NOTLEY ABBEY WITH SMALL VINTAGE TOUCHES FROM THE BRIDE & GROOM FOR 80 FAMILY & FRIENDS.

The Planning process….

THE PLANNING ONLY BEGAN 6 MONTHS PRIOR TO THE WEDDING , THERE WAS NO WEDDING SCRAPBOOK JUST A LOT OF HELP FROM FAMILY AND FRIENDS!

The Venue…

NOTLEY ABBEY, NEAR HADDENHAM. WE CHOSE THIS AS THE VENUE COULD BE EXCLUSIVELY OURS FOR THE DAY. IT HAD A BEAUTIFUL SETTING AND THE PERFECT COMBINATION OF PERIOD CHARACTER AND A CONTEMPORARY INTERIOR.

Groom’s attire…

GREY TWEED SUITS – ALL VERY MONOCHROME WITH GREY ROSE BUTTON HOLES.

The Flowers…

A MIXTURE OF WHITE AND GREY ROSES, TINY GREEN SIGNELL A PLANTS AND HONEYCOMB TULIPS TO CREATE A VINTAGE SPRING LOOK.

The Music….

ACOUSTIC BAND IN THE AFTERNOON FOLLOWED BY A SOUL BAND ON THE EVENING GOT EVERYONE DANCING.

Beautiful bridesmaids…..

ONE BRIDESMAID EMMA WHO WORE A GREY TED BAKER DRESS – FOUND A MONTH BEFORE!!

The Details + Decor….

TOUCHES OF GREY, OLD FASHIONED LETTER PRESS TABLE NUMBERS AND VINTAGE CANDLESTICKS HIRED FROM LUCY BLOOMINGFILED WERE THE SMALLER DETAILS. WHILST HOMEMADE MARMALADE FROM THE BRIDE & RELISH FROM THE GROOM GAVE PERSONAL TOUCHES TO THE DAY.

Memorable moments…

THE ENTIRE DAY – AND GETTING TO SHARE IT WITH ALL OUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS.

The Dress + Accessories…..

IT WAS THE FIRST DRESS I TRIED ON!I KNEW I WANTED OLD FASHIONED LACE WITH A FISH TAIL TRAIN – IT WAS PERFECT!

THE DRESS WAS FROM BOUTIQUE HONEY COLE IN ABBOTTS BROMLEY, THE SHOES WERE PEEP TOE WITH A VINTAGE BROACH FROM RAINBOW COUTURE AND A VINTAGE HAIR CLIP FINISHED THE LOOK.

Advice for other couples…

DON’T GET TOO CAUGHT UP IN THE SMALL EST DETAILS, IT REALLY DOESN’T MATTER ON THE DAY AND JUST ENJOY IT! PLUS MAKE SURE YOU FIND THE RIGHT PHOTOGRAPHER WHO UNDERSTANDS WANT YOU WANT FROM THE DAY – THE PICTURES ARE FOREVER! MATT PARRY WAS OUR PHOTOGRAPHER WHO TOOK THE MOST AMAZING DOCUMENTARY STYLE SHOTS TO CAPTURE THOSE HIDDEN MOMENTS AND TINY DETAILS THAT MADE OUR WEDDING DAY….AND OUR WEDDING ALBUM!
