Oh my this wedding just keep getting better, the portraits are amazing, the light just streams into the images. Helen and Nic keep their recpetion simple, with stunning results.
Thanks so so much again the the amazing Lisa Devine Photography for sharing her work today….
Your Photographer….
Lisa Devine. Lisa was recommended to me by a friend and I’m so glad we went with her. I felt we were on a similar wavelength. After seeing her images online I knew she was the right girl for the job. We met and clicked. Nic and I are delighted with the photos and cannot sing her praises enough!
The Flowers…
Heather at Endrick Blooms in Killearn did an absolutely amazing job with the flowers. Our bouquets were total perfection. I would recommend her to anyone. Friendly, helpful and all round lovely. I conveyed to her the colours and style that I was looking for and she matched exactly what was inside my head!
Memorable moments…
The sun coming out for us at just the right moment. Getting ready with my Mum & bridesmaids and getting a shout out on the radio from Graham Norton. My Dad crying in the church, and all the amazing speeches that took place at dinner. The KILTS!
The Dress + Accessories….
I am a vintage enthusiast/collector and so I am no stranger to sourcing items from all over the globe. This for me was one of the most exciting and stressful parts. I wanted a 50’s look for myself and bridesmaids.
I had done a lot of research online but when it came to it I really thought ‘if I’m going to buy a wedding dress, I NEED to be able to try it on first’. That meant ebay went out the window. So, I travelled to Bristol to a ladies house full to the brim with vintage and antique wedding dresses. It was like being in a toy shop. Although the experience wasn’t particularly smooth in the end, I found the 50s dress I wanted and so that was all that mattered! The experience also made me realise that it’s something I would like to do myself in future. Catering for other vintage brides and bridesmaids.
The Details + Decor….
Because the Roman Camp and all the staff were so lovely, there really wasn’t that much to do with regards to décor. It’s amazing what roaring log fires, wood clad rooms and enormous bay windows can do to make people feel welcome and at home. The only things we added were petals to the tables, some sparklers for a bit of fun, and camera’s on each table for people to get snap happy with. We also made tablet favour boxes (home-made by Mum) wrapped in the Lindsay tartan, and menu scrolls again with matching Lindsay tartan.
Advice for other couples…
Breathe in every single moment. There is no point in stressing. This day will only happen once so enjoy it. (take an extended honeymoon if possible!!)
The Honeymoon….
Our Honeymoon was short, but very sweet. We spent 3 days on the Island of Skye in a 5 star cottage retreat in the middle of nowhere. It really was perfection. We also made a visit to the 3 Chimneys restaurant which was delicious.
Thanks so much to Helen and Nic for sharing their day with {www}.
