James and Tracy were married in July 2010 in a beautiful countryside family feel day. I just love the simple but gorgeous and personal touches to the day and the beautiful photography.
Thanks so much to the amazing Surrey wedding photographer, Sugar and Spice Photography for sharing their work today, here is what they had to say about the day;
“James and Tracy’s wedding was special for so many reasons. In this day and age of ‘doing things differently’, there is still so much to be said for doing things beautifully, classically and with panache. For me this was the archetypal English wedding. Think Summer’s day, a quaint village church, and a reception on the village cricket pitch in a beautifully decorated marquee, and you have some of the key ingredients of this gorgeous wedding. Add to this a beautiful Bride and a handsome Groom, so much in love, and you have all the ingredients for the perfect wedding day.”
The Dress + Accessories…..
Ellis Bridals, Shoes from Kurt Geiger. Originally wanted something fitted and loved the Emily dress by Enzoani but in the end I fell in love with a dress from Ellis Bridals.
The Flowers…
Bride’s bouquet — Round ball bouquet with white gletsjer and vandela roses and diamanté pins.
Groom’s corsage – white rose and thistle
Centrepieces – lilies, steel grass, bells of Ireland and white roses
Place settings — ranunculus
Bridesmaids wore rose corsages, Katie had a small bouquet of roses and freesias
The Wedding Flower Gallery, Hungerford, Berkshire
The Proposal….
At the top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, with a glass of pink Champagne!
The Vision for the day….
Country wedding, relaxed and informal.
The Planning process….
We had just under a year to plan our wedding. Although we live in Liverpool, we decided to opt for a marquee wedding in the tiny village of Chaddleworth in Berkshire. This made things a little difficult as we did everything ourselves and had to source our own suppliers. We covered the length and breadth of the country and made fortnightly visits to Chaddleworth!
Beautiful bridesmaids…..
Stephanie Taylor, Sharon Power, Anne Eaton and Katie Grierson (aged 7)
Groom’s attire…
Navy Gucci suit.
The Venue…
St Andrew’s Church, Chaddleworth, Berkshire
Marquee reception held at Chaddleworth Cricket Club, Chaddleworth, Berkshire
The Readings + Music….
James’s two children, Katie and James designed the order of service.
Readings were by our friends Cathy and Dave:
1 Corinthians 13. A reading from the first letter of St Pauls to the Corinthians.
St John’s Gospel, Chapter 2 verses 1–11. Wedding at Cana.
Music:
Wagner’s Bridal Chorus
Elbow, One Day Like This Instrumental Version (signing of the register)
Wedding March, Mendelssohn
The Details + Décor….
Lavender scented napkins, tied with raffia.
Children’s table centrepiece was a tower of strawberry, chocolate and vanilla doughnuts,
Midnight barbeque.
The Cake…
From Marks and Spencer’s wedding range. My Chief Bridesmaid assembled it for us.
Memorable moments…
The very funny best men’s speech
Children playing cricket in the summer sunshine
Advice for other couples…
Go with your instincts and enjoy it! x
The Honeymoon….
Two and a half weeks in Koh Samui, staying at Elements and Shasa Hotel.
