I am head over heels for today’s real wedding feature, it’s so so so beautiful. The venue is utterly splendid, in a whimsy romantic tree house setting… wow. Not only that but Mark and Charlotte created a day so personal and unusual with beautiful touches such as the home made wooden hearts. How stunning is Charlotte.. .wow!

“This was my first wedding of 2011…I was a bit nervous as there are so many things to think about at a wedding, and you want to capture the images that will allow the Bride & Groom to relive the day over and over. I needn’t have worried, I loved every moment of it…cried at least twice, and had to massage my jaw from smiling so much (I’m sure it’s the bride who’s supposed to do this hehe!) I think you will agree from the images below that this is a couple who are completely relaxed with each other, utterly gorgeous, and very good at choosing wedding venues! Beautiful bridesmaids…..

Beautiful Imogen as flowergirl ,daughter of bridesmaid Katie Beardmore, then Amy Sunley, Laura Jepson and Louise Whittland. Our pageboy was our scrumptious nephew Albert Wise. I could not have done this wedding without all of my amazing girls who are the light of my life!

The Proposal….

very romantic. We took 3 weeks out in 2009 to backpack around Thailand. Marc carried the ring in his backpack for 2 whole weeks waiting for the perfect time, somehow managing to keep me out of his bag and the ring away from the airport bleepers! After 2 weeks trekking in the jungle, covered in bites and not properly washed, we surfaced back in Bangkok and headed for the islands to relax. Marc booked us one night in the most beautiful little villa on Koh Tao and set up a gorgeous bath in our own Jacuzzi overhanging the sea. I have to admit I was a bit of a tired grumpy girlfriend at this point! Once in and with a pop of bubbly he proposed on one knee amongst the bubbles. Totally unexpected! Bliss!

The Venue…

Alnwick Garden Pavilion for the ceremony, then the Alnwick Treehouse Restaurant for reception. Then back to the Pavilion which was lit up by underfoot stars for the evening of dancing and general happy crazy merriment.

The Vision for the day….

Something full of fun and all about love. The love we have for eachother but also the love for our family and friends. We are so lucky to be so close to the people in our lives. We have the greatest love amongst our families, and Marc is lucky enough to have a really close group of friends from his childhood. My friends are scattered all over the country but our bonds are each unique, special and unbreakable too. The vision was to have an ‘extended evening out’, as in a sumptuous meal with lots of wine and long conversation, followed by a little crazy dancing amongst the stars. We love all things handmade and shabby chic so that was woven in amongst it all with lots of handmade touches.

The Planning process….

was very fun. Marc was away a lot of the first year planning but we still had long excited talks into the night to keep us going with ideas. We never really had a colour scheme, it was to be eclectic and full of the things we loved regardless of whether they matched. My friends and mum and stepmum made so many of the decorations with me, I couldn’t begin to thank them enough!

The Readings + Music….

We had 2 readings. I like You( by Sandol Stoddard Warburg), and Blessing of the Hands( by Rev. Daniel L. Harris). Music was a mix of Jack Johnson, Beatles and Take That!
