Happy Friday, it’s a double whammy.… it’s the bank holiday yippeeeee!! I hope everyone has lovely plans this weekend but before you set off i have a gorgeous snowy winter wonderland wedding to share.
Thanks so much to the wonderful London wedding photographer, Big Day Pictures for sharing his work today, here is what he had to say about the day;
“I set off for Susie & Richard’s pre-Christmas wedding in Saffon Walden with some trepidation. The freak snowfall that marked the final weeks of 2010 had left some decidedly perilous road conditions and when you’re the photographer even skidding into a ditch is no excuse for arriving late. It was all worth it though because the weather conditions contributed in the most romantic way possible to what turned out to be a picture-book Winter wedding, featuring Christmas carols during the service, an open fire, a festive colour scheme and even a herd of (rein)deer in the grounds of the reception venue. Susie and Richard were a pleasure to work with, gladly going above and beyond the call of duty for the sake of the pictures, especially Susie who at one point happily risked frostbite by standing in her elegant Rachel Simpson shoes, ankle-deep in snow. This despite the fact that I didn’t even ask her to! A lovely couple and a fabulous wedding.”
The Proposal….
On the beach in Marbella, Spain August 2009
The Vision for the day….
Winter Wonderland
The Planning process….
Very relaxed with the help of a great venue and coördination team.
Beautiful bridesmaids….
Maid of Honour, Joanne Coates & Bridesmaid Flavia Jolly. Both in Cranberry floor length gowns from Alfred Angelo at Divine Gowns in Chelmsford.
The Dress + Accessories…..
Dress from Jasmine at Divine Gowns, Chelmsford. Tiara from Halo. Bespoke jewellery made to order. Silver shoes from Rachel Simpson. Fur shrug and veil both from Divine Gowns. First one I tried on…only one I tried on! Ordered it in November 2009, a year before the wedding and I never saw anything in the following year that even came close.
Groom’s attire…
Marc Wallace shirt, tie and waistcoat. Bespoke suit made by Anthony Formal Wear in Billericay. Iain the tailor is an absolute star and we would recommend him for bespoke suits and hire suits to anyone.
The Flowers…
Red roses for the girls, father of the bride, tables, venue and groomsmen. Ivory roses and pearls for brides and groom.
The Venue…
Parklands, Quendon Hall, Essex
Memorable moments…
The snow starting to fall the day before during our rehearsal. Followed by waking up the morning of the wedding to –10 degrees and 8 inches of snow. Mum’s car breaking down on way to venue and attempting to push it up a snowy hill with Flavia! Mum crying with relief when we finally made it to Quendon to start getting ready. And all that was before we even got to the church.…it was the most amazing, magical day.
You Photographer….
Ben Smith at Big Day Pictures. We were delighted with the photos – the perfect diary of our day from start to finish.
The Details + Décor….
Christmas trees, open fires, candles filling the church.
Advice for other couples…
Keep calm, have fun, remember everything!
The Honeymoon….
3 weeks. Christmas in Vietnam followed by New Year on the beach in Koh Samui, Thailand.
Thanks so much to Susie and Richard for sharing their day with {www}.
I hope everyone has a fabulous bank holiday weekend ;-) there will still be fab content hitting the blog, so do pop by during the holidays xoxo
