How many of you are Twilight fans? I am a HUGE Twilight fan, and if you are a fan you know just how romantic the love story of Bella and Edward is… how fitting for today of all days :-)
This shoot is very very special, for it has originated from a {www} competition!! So i am super excited to share the results, it actually brought a tear to my eye – how soppy am i?!!
The shoot is amazing, gorgeous images and a gorgeous girl, with some fabulous Twilight hints :-) How much is her husband to be going to love this!?
Beffordshire based wedding photographer Shaneen from Rosewarne Cox Photography, ran a competition with the blog back in August. There was such a fabulous response that we had a runner-up, who was Alex ;-) {the winner is still to have her shoot}.
Here was Alex’s original entry…
“My husband to be is a big bookworm and movie buff and loves all kinds of literature. His favourite books include Alice in Wonderland, the Sherlock Holmes stories and The girl with the dragon tattoo. Some of our shared favourite movies are Indiana Jones and the Twilight Saga.
My idea is to incorporate those loved books and films into the boudoir shoot…
The Twilight Saga:
Fangs… Corsets… Old-fashioned elegance… maybe a soft toy wolf… ‘Bite me’ incredibly sexy feeling for a boudoir shoot and very glam! Many of the characters have lived from the Victorian times so a subtle victoriana theme — lace, pearls and tight corsets :-)”
I’ve been reading www for quite a while now and love all of the gorgeous real weddings and the inspirational articles so when I came across the photography shoot competition I was really excited about entering – I have always wanted to do a boudoir shoot but without coming second place and getting a heavily discounted shoot I would never have been able to justify the expense! My entry was for a movie/literature themed shoot – not a normal boudoir where you prance around in sexy knickers, but something that really reflected myself and my hubby to be. We both love movies and reading so I figured a shoot based on some of our faves would be a great idea. I’m a little bit obsessed with twilight – so much so that my copies of the books have completely fallen apart and so this seemed like the perfect idea – besides vampires are definately sexy!
Shaneen was great – she completely got what I envisioned for the shoot and was really friendly – even picking me up at the local train station so I wouldn’t have to worry about getting lost! I was really nervous in the run up to the shoot but the minute I arrived I was put at ease – it helps that she makes a great strong cup of tea and the minute I saw her own copies of the Twilight Saga falling apart I knew she would make the shoot amazing! The whole day was such a great experience – I had my makeup done by Shareen {Shereen Roberts at Blush here mail is shereenmarie@hotmail.co.uk} (who was fantastic, she made me feel very vampire-tastic and talked me through everything she was doing), then sat down with Shaneen and talked through the different outfits and things that I had bought and planned out a few shots.
I loved having the photos taken, I felt really relaxed and at ease and had so much fun – it was such a pleasure working with Shaneen and as soon as I have finalised my own wedding plans I’ll be giving her a call about doing my photos – if she’s back from maternity leave by then! *fingers crossed* I expected to have to wait a couple of weeks to get the edited photos back but Shaneen loved them so much that she couldn’t drag herself away and had them all edited within a couple of days which was very exciting!
Now i’ve done my boudoir shoot I can get back to planning my own wedding – I’m a wedding planner so the pressure is on for my own day to be fantastic – i’ve got plenty of time to plan and save but I can’t wait to book our venue in the next couple of months :-) You can follow my own wedding planning at http://apostscriptbride.wordpress.com/ Alex xxx

Cool, I did a Twilight style shot for my wife recently just for a bit of fun, I went over top with the processing, but I like it! http://dan.rowlesmedia.com/2011/01/27/twilight-vampire/
