Wedding favours are a funny old thing aren’t they? But it’s a lovely idea to thank guests for coming to your wedding and sharing your special day with you.
“The tradition of distributing wedding favours is a very old one. It is believed that the first wedding favor, common amongst European aristocrats, was known as a bonbonniere. The contents of these precious boxes were generally sugar cubes or delicate confections, which symbolise wealth and royalty. As sugar became more affordable, bonbonniereswere replaced with almonds.Traditionally, five Jordan almonds are presented in a confection box or wrapped in elegant fabric to represent fertility, longevity, wealth, health and happiness.“ www.wikipedia.com
From this old tradition the wedding favour has come a long way, and i have scoured the net to find some gems for you. Firstly, if you haven’t got a large budget, go DIY and get making and baking! The most important thing is putting time, effort, love and thought into your guests gifts. Make sure they represent you. If you are a bookworm, make some bookmarks or give books! If you are a music lover compile a compilation CD. You get the idea hehe, just share yourselves on your big day and your guest will love and treasure the favours, not leave them on the table.
First up is some pretty packaging for some of your ideas. Get creative and think of something that will surprise and delight once opened :-) .….

Then i thought that I’d have a look for some edible treats, and go traditional like :-) Yum yum.…

And finally an eclectic mix of some things i found i thought would be über cute! Just imagine that egg cup filled with flowers or sweets. Once the guest is at home having a boiled egg or lighting that sweet candle they will think of your day :-)

So which is your favourite idea? Or what do you have planned? Come on share with lil ol’ me ;-) xoxo

Those badges are tres cute! We had bookmarks at ours, nice because we could add verse and a personal message.
Other weddings I've gone to have had pot-pourri sachets for wardrobes, sticks of rocks and lollies and even fridge magnets! It's great that people don't just stick to almonds nowadays.
