So I’m in a reflective mood, in all aspects of my life, so i will share. First off, this wedding blog. Well.…. it’s everything i ever dreamed of. Crazily i thought i wanted to be a wedding planner at one point, but now i realise, that would not be the right career for me and hats off to those amazing wedding planners out there, after organising our wedding i do not know how you do it :-) Anyway, when i started planning our wedding this time last year, for August 2010 i found the wedding forums at You and Your Wedding. I loved it, i mean who else would want to talk to me about wedding obsessions all the time? It wasn’t long until someone in the forum started talking about blogs, and well i had never heard of them. I did hunt for real weddings and inspiration but only found my fix with these beautiful blogging sites. I became enthralled and excited and slightly addicted. I’m not sure i if i have shared this before but i keep a diary, i have since a teen and i love doing it, looking back and remembering things i otherwise wouldn’t have. When i fell pregnant with A i signed up to a baby forum and kept an online journal. So when i started planning i realised i had to keep a diary, to remember everything and as a place to record things i found and love without loosing them.

Anyway, it wasn’t long until i started discovering real weddings i loved and started publishing them here to remember and draw inspiration from them. Then something happened, people started reading, and commenting, following me on twitter and on facebook and signing up for the RSS feed.… WOW! So i started posting more engagement shoots and weddings and eventually began to get real wedding reports on the blog. This organic and tentative beginning into blogging has turned into a mini career for me and a source of creative outlet and expression. Thanks to all of you in a matter of 8 months i feel i have found myself, clique i know. But after being ill for such a long time and having done my degree to become a part time cleaner, it’s degrading and i am ashamed to say humiliating every time someone looks down on you for that reason. I always tried to explain myself to people, i mean why?!

Blogging has given me my spark back, it inspires me and i cannot wait to jump out of bed and get started every morning. Don’t get me wrong, i love being a mummy above everything, but i need to use my brain and i still need to feel like ME sometimes. It also gives me conversation other than baby talk all the time.

One of the most incredible things about my blogging journey this year is the community of friends i have made, on the blog and through twitter. Incredible individuals i would never have met otherwise, the wedding industry is one of the most kind and caring and loving communities i have come across. I guess we’re all soppy right?! Hehe! I have met wonderful photographers, bloggers, wedding planners, stationery designers, jewelery makers and of course brides-to-be. And i love you all, each of you in your own way. Please do get in touch for a natter, i just love meeting you — or leave a comment here and there and i can get to know you.

Another thing that astounded me in blogging, is the fact that incredible businesses want to sponsor {www}, it really does blow me away. For a business to want to be associated with little old me, and for me to be able to be so proud of my sponsors to be able to really recommend them to you for the most special day of your life knocks me for words. Sponsorship can be a tricky debate in blogging world, but i just couldn’t justify the huge number of hours i dedicate without some {at the moment small} reward. After all i have  a little one to take care of too. I’m not making a massive income, just a little to help out with the bills, but one of my ambitions for 2011 is to turn this blog into a career for myself, to work and do something i love. I have never earned a proper wage and i really want to help support my family and save  up for our house this year.

In my personal life 2010 has been a rollercoaster for sure. The start of the year was amazing, and i have  never been happier. I had my little man, G and was planning our wedding, as my health had really improved. But not long after i started blogging i had a set back, which has led me on a downward spiral. We had to cancel our wedding, and i ended up pretty much confined at home and feeling really pretty lousy. I’m still struggling but over Christmas i feel i have really turned a corner and am trying to think positive and create a new start for myself. Even in my darkest moments my baby boy has put a big smile on my face as have many of you. So thank you :-)

I don’t have a new years resolution as such, i never do, but there are things i want to achieve;

♥ To be positive, relaxed and to have my well being back.

♥ To be a great mummy and have a happy little boy.

♥ To be able to finally forge a career for myself and to help finally to support my family.

♥ To build great memories and start living again.

♥ Seeing family and friends more and to meet some of you.

And finally if i don’t achieve any of these, not to beat myself up over it, there is no time scale, i think most people want these things for themselves. Oh and I’d love to win the lottery too ;-)

But in terms of our wedding, it won’t be happening for a while yet i do not think. We  need a house, this apartment just hasn’t the room for us now. But trust me when i say you will be the first to know :-)

Phew, i wrote a lot there didn’t i?! Sorry!! But what a year 2010 was, and how quickly did it go? I should probably say something amazing now, or  give you a thought provoking quote, but i am useless like that so all i will say is.…. l.o.v.e

Here’s  a sneak peek of some of what 2011 has in store and i cannot wait i tell you, wahoooooo.…..

    As a bride to be for the second time around, I've become addicted to wedding blogs and yours is definitely one of my favourites.Have to say that I especially love your ramblings!!I would love to start a blog myself but anything to do with computers apart from Facebook, Twitter and Google and the on/off switch is alian territory to me ! We only had typewriting lessons when I went to school. No such things as computers. Oh dear, shows how old I am!!!
    Good luck for the next year and may all of your dreams and aspirations come true
