“Sam and Katie were married in Pembrokeshire in March. It happened to be one of the only days in March that the sun shone all day and the glory of a Pembrokeshire Spring was in its element! Katie grew up in the little coastal village of Broad Haven where her father was the leader of Broad Haven Baptist Church. The family have recently moved away from the area, but Katie was really keen to get married in the little welsh chapel where she had grown up and her lovely father Ifor did the ceremony, which was very special and personal to her and the family.

Sam and Katie are both very creative and out-doorsy types, so they wanted to incorporate the stunning beauty of  the area into their day. Katie wore a very simple ivory dress and a touch of individuality by wearing green shoes. These complimented the green dresses the bridesmaids wore too. The day was jammed packed full of stunning daffodils, tulips and grape hyacinths. Katie’s mother grew most of these from seed. Sam is a surfer and surf instructor, so it was only right the boys spent some time on the beach in the morning. unfortunately they didn’t have time for a surf and the tide was in during the ceremony. The girls all got ready together, with lots of giggles, emotions and champagne and strawberries.

The morning was going well, but timings were slightly affected when the stunning Austin car that Katie was to use to travel to the wedding refused to start! Whoops! The service was a very joyous occasion and full of emotion and excitement and the Austin made it just in time to take the newlyweds away from the church..Phew! We were then able to scoot the now “happily married couple” away from the wedding crowd for some more personal shots at Nolton Haven. The tide was in, but this Haven has enough space and character for some “beside the sea” shots. The light was just perfect, it provided a beautiful haze and softness to the beach shots that we were able to capture. It was also so great that Sam and Katie are both so happy and natural when outside, it made it easy and so much fun to take photos of them.

The happy pair then travelled (again in the Austin) to their wedding reception at Cuffern Manor.  They had their reception in a marquee in the grounds and again this was full of stunning daffodils, tulips and other greenery. While at the reception venue we  borrowed a very glamorous green sofa, which followed along with the green wedding theme, but also helped us take some group shots, adding a natural shape to the groups, but also a super prop! After much food and relaxation, speeches and of course the first dance, Sam and Katie were treated to a surprise firework display and all the guests were given sparklers. We loved shooting this wedding, its was full of such fun, joy and love and really made us smile. Thanks Sam and Katie for letting us be a part of your day. We loved it x O&C Photography! ”
